A Japanese four-panel screen painted on a gold ground, depicting a blossoming cherry branch (sakura).
A large branch extends horizontally across the upper part of the composition, from which numerous thin hanging branches descend gracefully. The blossoms are arranged in clusters along the branches, with petals in shades of white and pink alternating with green leaves.
Signed lower right.
Period: Sh?wa, mid-20th century
Dimensions: 91.5 × 169 cm
Condition: The screen is in excellent condition with light signs of age and minor wear to the lacquered frame.
