A bronze vase of globular form with a long flaring neck, characterized by a dark brown patina with slight reddish iridescence, decorated in high relief with a ryu dragon coiling around the neck.
The smooth body is animated by the sculptural presence of the dragon, rendered with notable definition: the head features branching horns, flowing whiskers, and open jaws, while the sinuous, richly scaled body extends along the surface following the shape of the vase.
The limbs are well articulated, with pronounced claws gripping the metal.
Period: Meiji, late 19th century
Dimensions: 39 × 26 cm
Condition: Very good condition. Signs of wear and natural oxidation are present.
