Religious pendant medallion in gilt copper and enamel - Germany 18th century

Gilt copper reliquary pendant medallion, decorated with enamel miniatures, Germany, 18th century. The oval gilt copper pendant features a Baroque-style relief decoration and a suspension ring. Each side of the center is adorned with an enamel miniature depicting holy figures, likely martyrs, within finely molded oval frames. The richly worked gilt copper mount features vegetal motifs and scrolls, typical of 18th-century Central European craftsmanship. The double-sided medallion could have served as a devotional pendant or a small portable reliquary. German or Austro-Bavarian work, 18th century. Good overall condition, with normal wear to the gilding and enamel, consistent with age.
