Empire period gueridon, France, circa 1805–1815. This circular table rests on a sturdy central base veneered in flame-cut mahogany. The warm grain of the wood emphasizes the architectural composition typical of the Napoleonic period. The base is adorned with three finely carved swans, integrated into the structure. An emblematic motif of the Empire style, the swan evokes the classical inspiration characteristic of this era. The circular top is covered with white marble, offering an elegant contrast to the mahogany. A fine example of early 19th-century French Empire furniture.
