Fine white porcelain cup with a translucent glaze imitating the form of rhinoceros-horn libation cups.
It features a rare moulded and incised relief decoration of prunus branches, pine trees, rocks, cranes, and clouds.
Beautiful gilt-bronze mount, mercury-gilded, composed of an openwork rocaille base and a later beaded frieze collar.
The porcelain cup: China, Fujian province, Dehua kilns, late Kangxi reign (1661–1722), early Qianlong reign (1735–1796).
The gilt-bronze base: Paris, Louis XV period, circa 1750.
The beaded collar was added later (late 18th–early 19th century) to secure the ensemble perfectly.
In very good condition; original mercury gilding; a small firing crack on the rim of the cup.
