Superb and rare pair of polychrome terracotta roosters. Late 18th century. Some differences between the two roosters. Minor restoration. Beautiful plumage and posture, high-quality workmanship. They come from the outbuildings of the Palace of Versailles (probably from the Hamlet during the time of Marie Antoinette's sheepfold) at the Petit Trianon. The roosters are believed to be of the Swiss Andalusian breed. Weight: 22 kg per rooster. Dimensions: Height 77 cm, Length 54 cm, Depth 33 cm; and the second: Height 73 cm, Length 56 cm, Depth 35 cm.
