A mahogany roll-top desk stamped PETIT. Nicolas Petit (1732-1791) became a master cabinetmaker on January 21, 1761. Parisian work from the Louis XVI period. It opens with a cylinder that reveals three drawers, three compartments, and a sliding pull-out writing surface. It has two pull-out writing surfaces on each side. Three independent drawers are located on the cylinder, and four drawers are in the frieze, including a chest drawer. The desk rests on four fluted and reeded legs with brass ferrules. The top is Saint Anne gray marble. It has clover-shaped locks and keys. Height: 117 cm Length: 128 cm Depth: 65 cm
