Important polychrome bronze sculpture by Emmanuel Villanis (1858–1914), titled “Prise de Corsaire”. This monumental orientalist figure is finely modelled and displays a richly nuanced patina, characteristic of Villanis’ Art Nouveau production.
The work is signed on the terrace, stamped and numbered 4989, and bears the founder’s mark of the prestigious Société des Bronzes de Paris.
A highly decorative and elegant piece, remarkable for its presence and refined sculptural quality.
