Pair of gilt bronze candlesticks, attributed to Giuseppe Boschi (Rome, 1766–1821).
The candlesticks stand on a triangular base supported by sphinx figures and feature a columnar stem with finely chased decoration.
The ornamentation includes applied swans and ram heads, characteristic elements of late 18th-century Roman Neoclassicism. The quality of the casting and chasing reflects the refined bronzework produced for prestigious aristocratic interiors.
This model is documented and known, with comparable examples having appeared at Sotheby’s.
