An elegant 19th-century powder box with a silver mount and a body covered in shagreen (ray skin). The cylindrical spout is fitted with a small hinged lever. The shagreen has a fine, even grain and is framed by a silver border with three attachment rings. A beautiful, refined, and well-preserved period piece.
