Very Rare Armorial Flat Iron, Dated 1726

Very rare armorial flat iron dated 1726, bearing the coat of arms of the Morel de Fromental family — Jeanne Morel de Fromental, from a Limousin lineage, prior to her marriage in 1729 to Jean de Villoutreys, Seigneur de Faye.
This exceptionally rare bronze flat iron, cast in a solid ingot and finely engraved, features a rear opening designed to receive heated metal inserts.
