Table Fountain in Nevers Faience, Second Half of the 17th Century

Unusual and rare table fountain of ovoid form in Nevers faience, with two lateral handles shaped as winged sirens. The spout is modelled as a snake’s head, surmounted by a standing nude child glazed in white.
Each side of the fountain is decorated with various scenes: Chinese figures on a terrace, geese on a body of water, a lakeside landscape with a pagoda, and a child riding on a buffalo.
