18th & 19th centuries clocks and furntures
Rare and decorative pair of Sèvres porcelain vases with a deep, subtly nuanced blue ground, resting on an important finely chased gilt-bronze mount.
The vases feature an elegant ovoid body, a slightly flared neck, and two gilt-bronze handles with stylized vegetal decoration, typical of luxury productions from the second half of the 19th century.
The gilt-bronze mount, of excellent chasing and gilding quality, is signed PICARD, a renowned Parisian bronzier celebrated for his collaborations with major manufactories and for works intended for a prestigious clientele.
The porcelain bears the mark S 48, attributed to the Sèvres manufactory, attesting to careful production and a high level of finish.
It should be noted that the light marks visible in the photographs (dots and lines) are solely reflections caused by lighting and do not correspond to any surface defects.
A very fine presentation pair, characteristic of the eclectic and neoclassical taste of the late 19th century, highly sought after by collectors for the combination of Sèvres porcelain and signed gilt bronzes.
