A very significant baluster-shaped bronze vase with a brown “medal” patina or sentoku. Decoration in high relief, featuring applied alloys, finely gilded, silvered, and enameled. Decoration typical of the kach?-ga print style. The applied alloys are shakud? (copper and gold) as well as shibuichi (copper and silver).

European-style gilded bronze mount. Rests on four elephant heads. The composition is reminiscent of the drawings by the painter and ornamental artist Edouard Lièvre (1828–1886); produced by L’Escalier de Cristal, under the direction of Georges and Henry Pannier.
