        Oil portrait on canvas, depicting a lady of quality, dressed in a blue satin gown, adorned with a fur collar, her neck adorned with a black ribbon bearing the Order of the Holy Spirit. Signed Chevalier (Delorge?) and dated 1777, in its rich original carved and gilded wooden frame; decorated with a cascade of ribbons and a large bow at the top, embellished with an elegant crown of flowers and fruit. French work from the Louis XVI period, late 18th century.
Jacques DELORGE, known as the “Chevalier de Lorge,” was a French court painter (1733/after 1798).
