Nicolas Pierre François Dubuc, known as Dubuc l’Aîné
The Parisian clockmaker Nicolas-Pierre-François Dubuc, called l’aîné, was active in the capital from the late reign of Louis XVI through the early years of the Empire (see Tardy, Dictionnaire des horlogers français, Paris, 1971, p.193).
Very likely the elder brother of the clockmaker Jean-Baptiste-Charles-Gabriel Dubuc, known as le jeune, he gained great renown among Parisian horological collectors. He successively established his workshop in the rue du Grand-Hurleur, rue du Grenier-Saint-Lazare, and rue Michel-Lecomte.
