Large limoges candlestick

A rare large Limoges polychrome painted enamel candlestick in the Renaissance style.
Colorful enamel decoration on a black enamel ground, and gilding. Hollow base, baluster shaft, and vase-shaped spout with a wide rim. The base and shaft feature a circumferential depiction of putti riding on mythical maritime creatures. In between, a ribbon decoration with vases and fruit festoons.
Paint chipping.
Dimensions: 31 x 19.8 cm.
Second half 19th century.
