Pair of carved and gilded wood wall consoles decorated with leafy palms, flowers, and scrolls, Régency period
Elegant pair of small wall consoles in finely carved and gilded wood, adorned with motifs typical of the Rococo style.
Each console features a richly openwork composition. The central section is decorated with a large stylized flower framed by leafy volutes in an architectural niche and topped by a scrollwork with leaves escaping from either side.
The lower section is enlivened by a set of two large, deeply carved palms, divided by a large, finely chiseled ear of wheat and highlighted by a central scrollwork that ends in a falling floral rosette.
The tops, with their lively contours, are molded and delicately carved with a stylized foliage motif around their edges, reinforcing the overall harmony of the composition. The carving is distinguished by its fine execution and the balance of the openwork, which lends lightness and refinement to the overall effect.
French work from the Regency period, in its beautiful original gilding.
