The pair of neoclassical vases was made in Italy in the nineteenth century in finely chiselled bronze.
Of classical taste, the vases are “baccellati” in the upper and lower part and have particular lateral handles with foliated decorations. The plinth base is very particular and very inventive. There are several overlapping and staggered parallelepipeds that create movement and a pleasant decorative effect. Above and below the plinth, with starry decorations, two elements simulate the shape of a book. Everything rests on a wooden base lacquered with fake porphyry.
These vases, unusual and difficult to find on the market both for their overall design and for their large size, are particularly ornamental. They can be placed on bases or columns, dressers or consoles or coffee tables. The classic taste makes them very modern and suitable to be combined with both antique and contemporary furnishings.
