17th century Italian school - Saint George slaying the dragon

Italian school from the second half of the 17th century.
The large painting depicts Saint George slaying the dragon. The canvas has not been cleaned and there is a small hole in the lower right-hand corner.
The legend of Saint George and the Dragon describes a saint who tames and kills a dragon that demands human sacrifice. The saint thus saves the princess chosen as his next offering.
