Pair Of Putti In Caryatid 19th century

These very large immovable bronzes represent two putti in a sheath facing each other like caryatids.
They are represented with arms above their heads, hands with crossed fingers.
The lower part of the sheath has a caparison pattern.

We are in a work of very good quality with a very "alive" design.
They dressed a monumental fireplace or a portal lintel.
One will think of Cocteau's book, sad witness to the intense destruction of so many immovable bronzes during the 1930s and 70s (fountain, architectural elements, etc.). These bronzes are survivors.

State :
Very good condition, some scratches (from demolition or scrap metal storage).

Beautiful patina.

Dimensions:
height: 60cm (excluding base), width: 27 cm, depth: 23 cm.
The custom base is attached.
