Innocent young girl with blond hair. She has all the freshness of a soft spring breeze. Oil on oak panel embedded in a slightly larger oak panel. Damage to the surrounding area (part of the preparatory paint layers there has disappeared) and some wear (17th century wabisabi). But how surprisingly calm and pure does she look at us since 400 years with those bright and twinkling eyes. Her young beauty seemingly immune to the surrounding decay. A little gem!
Some rare tiny retouching (shawl) but otherwise good condition. Not cradled.
Original panel: 12x10,7cm (4,72 x 4,21 in.). Embedded panel: 14,3x11,8 cm (5,62 x 4,64 in.). With frame: 23x20cm.
