Still Life starring a basket full of flowers in an explosion of colors.
The finesse of the details and the remarkable execution attest the attribution to this mysterious Venetian painter who preferred to remain anonymous and whom critics indicate as the "Master of the Guardeschi Flowers". This name derives from a series of paintings depicting well-defined floral compositions, with an original pictorial style and extraordinary elegance, the author of which remained unknown, but for a long time referred to the great Venetian Master.
The erroneous attribution, which believed these stills belonging to the production of Francesco Guardi and his workshop, give rise to the current name.
In fact he is certainly an artist who has evolved in the circle of Venetian painters of the '700 but his works are innovative compared to the traditional canons of still life.
His paintings, characterized by an asymmetrical and undisciplined setting, have shimmering colors, the result of a free and loose brushstroke.
The extraordinarily bright colors are enhanced by the monochrome background that distinguishes his works.
