Paintings, works of art from 15th to 18th century
Biansato bronze vase, bearing the signature of the Giorgio Sommer foundry. It shows small signs of time and two dents. Dimensions: height of approximately 55 cm The inscription "Fonderia Giorgio Sommer Calabritto 2-3 Napoli" which runs along the foot indicates that it comes from the famous foundry created in Naples by the German Giorgio Sommer (Frankfurt-on- le-Main 1834-Naples 1914), a multifaceted character known in particular for his work as a photographer. Sommer, who settled in Naples in 1856, in addition to documenting with his photographs the local beauty and the customs and traditions of his people, was a popular photographer of antiquities and archaeological finds, an activity he brilliantly combined with a lively trade in artistic crafts and reproductions, which he began around 1879.
