Italian fine 18th mirror in gilded wood, Genoa circa 1750

Beautiful mirror in linden wood gilded with leaf.
Violin-shaped model, made up of acanthus staples embellished with finely carved rooster crest rockeries.
The pediment with parapets is adorned with an exuberant asymmetrical acanthus leaf.

Very good condition, original two-part mercury ice cream.

Softwood flooring and original gilding.

Our opinion :

The rather narrow format of our mirror intended it to be placed between two windows.
With its rococo decoration, it is characteristic of the beautiful Genoese Baroque, which although mellowed by more mastered forms, still remained in force in the middle of the 18th century.
The delicacy of its sculpture, the rarity of its dimensions, the purity of its line and its optimal state of conservation, with the gilding, the glasses and the parquetry which are original, make it a piece of great qualities, particularly rare on the market.
