An Antwerp 17th c. ebony jewel cabinet

Exqusite and precious jewel cabinet in ebony veneer. The exterior is sober and elegant, adorned at the corners of with four sculpted terms ending in a console.

It opens with a fall front revealing an interior composed of 6 drawers and a cover which reveals an upper compartment lined with silk. A secret space is hidden in the cover, it is unlocked by loosening a screw.

The interior of the fall front and the upper lid are decorated with exotic wood marquetry.

In the middle of the drawers, there's a theater with glass walls that can be completely removed, revealing secret drawers.

The cabinet stands on four ball feet.

Heart-shaped silver lock escutcheon.
