The Louis XIV watch movement, signed "Asselin in Rouen" (governor of "Gros Horloge" in Rouen)
The movement is a Louis XIV watch movement and operates over 24 hours.

This watch trinket rests on a rococo base made up of strong foliated scrolls with windings, supporting a kind of mound where leaves and berries appear and a small promontory on which sits on a rock a putto carrying a vase painted with foliage in the flowers. shades of red. To the right is a truncated shrub trunk with a few leaves. On the left is a simulated stone fountain from which water seems to flow from a spring. Behind the putto rise on either side an architectural column topped with a fluted motif and a long deployed volute, topped with a sort of double roof surmounting the dial. The ensemble is crowned with a central vase covered with draperies held by hooks, flanked by two other covered oblong-shaped vases. The back is closed by a wall of simulated stones. The dial indicates the hours (Roman numerals) and the minutes (Indo-Arabic numerals).
