Enamelled terracotta dish "La Belle jardinière" school of Bernard Palissy

Oval dish with scalloped edge in enamelled terra cotta (lead enamel) with polychrome decoration in the basin of an allegory of spring in light relief or "La Belle Jardinière".
School of Bernard Palissy, Parisian workshop, early 17th century.

Dimensions : 30,5 x 25 cm.
Two cracks restored and some lack of glaze.


Cf. Comparable copy with different enamels at the Dupuy-Mestreau Museum in the city of Saintes N ° 428a p. 161 of the catalog of Jean-Yves Hugoniot, ed. art Somogy, Paris 2002.
Mr. Hugoniot attributes this dish to either Avon, Lisieux or Fontainebleau. Another similar dish at the Musée d'Orbigny-Bernon in La Rochelle.
Another dish but with a different wing decoration "La Belle Jardinière" at the Louvre Museum, Paris (inv. DA 1347).
