Pierre Gobert, born in Fontainebleau in 1662, died in Paris on January 13, 1744. He was received at the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture on December 31, 1701. He became one of the appointed painters of the aristocracy of the court of Versailles and the painter of the court of Lorraine.
