Hispano-moresque bowl with blue decoration, Paterna-Manises circa 1400

Beautiful Gothic bowl from Paterna or Manises, late XIVth centruy-early XVth century, in notable condition.

A bowl with same dimensions and decoration is conserved at the National Museum of Ceramics in Valencia (nº 6/819), as well as another one at the Museum of Paterna (N° inv. SP/93/319).

Condition: Neat break in the body, restored and visible. Old repair in the rim.
An old wire for hanging purpose attached to the foot.

It has to be noted that ceramics from Manises and Paterna of this period come mostly from excavations (mainly ancient kilns) and surviving pieces are therefore generally extensively restored, on average neatly more than this bowl.
