Very wide wingback chair in molded and carved walnut, with a flat backrest; a so-called “confessional” wingback chair.
It rests on four curved legs carved with a large acanthus leaf, joined by an X-shaped crossbar that is molded and carved with foliage and ending in scroll-shaped feet.
The scalloped front rail is richly carved with an openwork shell centered by foliage scrolls, and the sides feature a half-shell motif with foliage.
Beautifully upholstered with its original tapestry, remounted on canvas.
