The upper section features a high back known as a “basket-handle” form, with the rails and uprights not visible. The armrest consoles are set back from the front leg and support straight, fully upholstered arm sleeves. The “S”-shaped consoles are carved with leafy scrolls topped by a flat shell. The seat rail is decorated at its center with a palmette, framed by foliage. The cabriole legs are adorned with vegetal scrolls, surmounted by a shell.
