Charles Amable Lenoir, born Charles-Aimable Lenoire on 22 October 1860 in Chatelaillon and died on 1 August 1926 in Paris.
French painter.
A pupil of William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury.
True to the academic tradition, he painted portraits and mythological and religious scenes.
He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1887.
He competed for the Prix de Rome, reaching the final stage four times and eventually winning the Second Grand Prix in 1889 before winning the Second Grand Prix again in 1890 .
In 1900, *Le Calme*, a portrait of his new wife Eugénie Lucchesi, was awarded the bronze medal at the Paris Salon.
He was awarded the Legion of Honour by his mentor William Bouguereau, by decree of the Ministry of Public Instruction in July 1903.
He died in Paris on 1 August 1926.
