Bruckmann & Söhne – Solid silver jardinière late 19th century

An oval, undulating solid silver jardinière in the Rococo style.
The widely flared body features repoussé and chased decoration comprising broad spiral fluting, scrolls, rocaille motifs, acanthus leaves, and floral sprays. The central section is adorned with a high-relief winged putto—surrounded by flowers and foliage—standing out against the polished silver surface.
On either side, two large openwork handles feature putti modeled in the round, their torsos emerging from a network of leafy scrolls and rocaille flourishes; these handles flow directly into the undulating ends of the body.
The deeply shaped upper rim is defined by a rhythm of curves and counter-curves, accented with moldings, shell motifs, and small floral details. The lower section echoes the same decorative vocabulary of rocaille and acanthus motifs and rests on four cabriole legs with scroll feet. This jardinière includes an interior liner made of silver-plated metal with a light vermeil (gold-plated) finish.
