Pair of Empire period candelabra in finely chased, patinated, and gilt bronze.
Attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire, each features the winged figure of Victory, her raised arms supporting a vase adorned with masks of winged Zephyrs, from which emerge five light arms and a central light decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves and water leaves.
Each figure stands on a sphere mounted on a pedestal decorated with palmettes, resting on a cylindrical base adorned with a garland of small flowers and fruits, and foliage wreaths enclosing the profiles of a man and a woman.
Work in a very fine state of preservation, attributed to Thomire after a design by Percier.
