Private collection, having always remained within the same family by descent.

We present a pastel portrait of a lady of quality in the pure tradition of 18th century portraiture, intimate in character and looking directly at the viewer, with a certain echo of the portraits of Queen Marie Antoinette painted by the celebrated portraitist Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1755–1842).
