Charles FRECHON (1856-1929) Autumn leaves

Influenced by his friend Charles Angrand, he turned towards Neo-Impressionism from 1888 onwards. An independent artist deeply attached to his native Normandy, he developed a style based on the juxtaposition of small touches of pure color and a deliberately restrained palette. His flowering orchards, woodland scenes and rural landscapes reflect a close observation of the changing seasons and a constant search for light. Without strictly adhering to the principles of Pointillism, he favored a sensitive and direct approach to nature.
