A finely crafted gilt and patinated bronze centerpiece from the Charles X period, dating to circa 1820–1830.
This elegant composition features two finely cast putti supporting a pierced gilt bronze basket. The harmonious design combines richly detailed chasing with a striking contrast between the warm mercury-gilt bronze and the deep brown patina, characteristic of the finest decorative bronzes of the period.
The openwork basket, adorned with foliate motifs and resting on an oval base with delicate ornamental decoration, reflects the refined taste and craftsmanship associated with French decorative arts during the reign of Charles X.
Originally intended as an elegant table centerpiece, this piece remains both decorative and representative of early nineteenth-century French bronze work.
