Artist: Lombard Master, late 17th century
Finely carved and engraved lime wood.

Excellent condition, no restorations or replacements.
The sculpture depicts the traveling saint and propagator of Christianity, standing with his robes exceptionally draped, walking with the Gospel under his arm, intent on bringing faith in God to the world.
The movement of the tunic, with its extraordinary succession of folds, demonstrates the artist's exceptional sculptural skill.
The facial expression is remarkable, characterized by a long beard that gives a fascinating hieratic tone to this important figure of the Church.
The work is in very good condition, intact and without any missing parts, with the normal signs of aging.
The linden wood has a magnificent golden patina that gives the sculpture a luminous halo and a very pleasant appearance.
