Northern France, likely 15th / 16th century
Iron, forged. Supported by three curved legs, the cylindrical central shaft features three twisted braces holding a wheel-shaped fitting with conical sockets and intermediate spikes, including a central elevated spike.
A closely comparable iron chandelier is housed in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (Inv. No. 544–1895), as well as another in the same museum: Inv. No. 724–1895 (first half of the 15th century), and particularly regarding the legs, Inv. No. 800–1895.
