Superb patina on this semi-relief sculpture in Chaumont stone. Our saint wears a mitre and liturgical vestments. He sports a richly sculpted cope and a pectoral cross. The elegant drapery and the sober, hieratic expression of his face are particularly noteworthy. A work from northeastern France dating to the 18th century, it features an anchor rod on the back, allowing it to be placed in an exterior niche on the facade of a chapel or religious institution.
Dimensions: 110 cm high x 44 cm wide x 30 cm deep.
Losses to the hands and several elements of the tub – stone erosion.
