Piedmontese painter of the second half of the 18th century
Two Still Lifes with composition of flowers, fruits and mushrooms
Measurements: Frames: cm W 63 x H 74 x D 8.5
frames cm W 39,5 x H 51 and cm W 45 x H 56

The paintings, made in oil on canvas and in good condition, depict two still lifes with compositions of flowers and fruits. Stylistically the author is sought among the painters active in the second half of the eighteenth century in Piedmont (north of Italy).
The work presented here on the left describes in the foreground a wicker basket filled with white grapes and vine leaves ahead of which there are two inverted porcini mushrooms. In the background a ceramic vase decorated with bas-reliefs depicting "putti games" is enriched by a rich composition of flowers in shades of red, white, yellow and blue. The setting is outdoors and in the background, dark, you can distinguish some hints of landscape.
The painting on the left also consists of two still lifes, in the foreground and second floor. Next is a composition of vine and white grapes with currant, peaches and an apple, while beyond, on a step, there is a round vase full of flowers in the varieties of reds, yellows, whites and blues. Nothing can be seen of the landscape; still lifes emerge from the dark background thanks to the vibrant colors.
The works are of good pictorial quality, characterized by a fine and sure brushstroke. Very decorative, they are pleasant displayed in pairs or interspersed with other furnishings. Their format allows them to be exhibited in any environment and are certainly suitable for both environments characterized by antique furniture and modern.
The frames are in gilded wood, from the nineteenth century.
