Chinese porcelain bourdaloue, 18th century

Bourdaloue in Chinese porcelain, famille rose, from the Qianlong period
(1736–1795), with polychrome decoration of flowers and foliage, retaining its lid.
Of oblong form, this small object, a kind of urinal, owes its name to the Jesuit priest Louis Bourdaloue, whose long and eloquent sermons made it indispensable for devout women.

East India Company porcelain, famille rose, from the Qianlong period, in good condition.
