CATALOGUE NOTE
This fine ebony veneer relic shrine of architectural design, adorned with refined gilded bronze and typical spiral-turned Solomonic-columns made out of rock crystal was most likely produced in a Florentine workshop. The shrine clearly shows influence of the refined object d’art produced at the illustrious Grand Ducal workshops known as the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, (the ‘Workshop of semi-precious stones’) in Florence in the second half of the 17th Century.
