These Japanese porcelain vases are hexagonal in shape. They are decorated, in blue on a white ground, within reserves with sinuous outlines, with various vegetal or geometric motifs and landscapes. These reserves are outlined with blue borders enhanced with red and fine gilt lines.
Although the shapes of the ceramics as well as the decoration and colors of the two vases are similar, the shapes of the reserve outlines differ.
They are electrified, and their unusual decoration is of great decorative interest. The electrification is recent; we present them with basic lampshades that were used for exhibition purposes. These shades are far from being flawless and do not justify shipping costs.
A small restoration is to be noted on the neck of one vase, and a small, invisible chip (located under the brass mount) on the neck of the other.
Japan, 19th century.
The vase measures 30 cm, and 57 cm with the lampshade.
