This remarkable pair of bronze ornamental vases dates from the French Empire period, circa 1805–1815, and elegantly illustrates the refined aesthetic of the Consulate and First Empire. The vases are crafted from finely mercury-gilded bronze and rest on tiered bases, richly decorated with precise and meticulous chasing. The slender bodies of the vases are surmounted by delicately modeled spouts and handles in the form of swan heads, an emblematic motif of the Empire style, directly inspired by classical antiquity. The bases are decorated with appliqués depicting torches and laurel wreaths, symbols of victory, light, and eternity. Although these vases cannot be definitively attributed to a specific workshop, they exhibit strong stylistic affinities with the works of great Parisian bronze casters such as Claude Galle and Pierre-Philippe Thomire. The quality of the casting, the fineness of the chasing, and the harmonious proportions attest to a very high level of craftsmanship. The two vases are preserved in excellent original condition and form a rare and well-balanced set. Dimensions: 28 × 9 cm. A particularly elegant pair, ideal for a discerning collector or a classic interior with character.
