Offered by Mora Antiques
Pair of patinated and gilt bronze two-light candelabra from the Charles X period (circa 1824–1830).
The candle arms are supported by cherubs cast in dark patinated bronze, creating an elegant contrast with the richly fire-gilded decorative elements. The upper section is centred around a laurel wreath with crossed attributes and an acanthus crest, reflecting the refined neoclassical vocabulary characteristic of the late Bourbon style.
The fluted, baluster-shaped bases with foliate ornamentation attest to the high quality of the casting and gilding found in early 19th-century French bronze workshops. A harmonious and representative pair, displaying the elegance and craftsmanship associated with the Charles X decorative arts.
