Léon LE ROYER (Nancy 1858 – Meaux 1939)
An Old Bridge at Le Cannet Oil on canvas, signed lower left 38x55cm 55x72cm framed Léon le Royer (1858-1939) Painter, born in Nancy in 1858 and died in Meaux in 1939. He was a student of Dardoize. He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français from 1889. He exhibited at the Nancy Salon from 1889 to 1913 with landscapes of Normandy, the Mediterranean coast, the area around Meaux, and Brittany. At the "Salon parisien de l'Ecole française" he presented a landscape "Le bois de Crégy" Exhibition: Meaux, Musée Bossuet Léon Le Royer 1858-1939, paintings and drawings from the Museum collection: exhibition from October 23 to November 22, 1976.
