This soft-paste porcelain teapot was crafted by the Sèvres manufactory in 1778. The body is adorned with a deep “bleu nouveau” ground, finely overlaid with a regular pattern of gilt dots (“semis de points d’or”). Several vibrant floral bouquets, including roses, peonies, and daisies, are hand-painted by Charles-Nicolas Buteux, known for his floral compositions. The spout contrasts with a white ground and floral decoration. Lavish gilding on the lid and edges is attributed to Chauvaux.
The teapot is in fine condition, with minor gilt wear typical of 18th-century use, showcasing the elegance of royal French porcelain craftsmanship.
