Large mirror with carved and gilded wooden parecloses of leafy and flowering branches on the sides. These branches are topped with falling laurel leaves that escape from a large neoclassical vase topped with flowers.
The parecloses usually present only on the sides of the mirror, are found here, also in the pediment.
The framing rod of the mirror is raised in the upper part and presents a decoration of rolled ribbons and interrupted beading.
Finally, the mirror ends in its lower part with a pretty knot framed by palm leaves.
Note a nervous, vigorous and openwork sculpture in certain places.
Work from the end of the 18th century, Louis XVI period.
Good condition of gilding; slight iridescence with mercury.
Height: 143 cm.
Width: 87.5 cm.
